It is finally time to show off the before and after bathroom remodel pics! Here’s a quick recap of the project so you can see the dramatic changes for yourself.
Demo
There was a lot to remove (and destroy) during this remodel. I was surprised at how much I loved demoing, and I’m kind of good at it too!
The plumbing
From rerouting water pipes to moving drains, I learned a lot about plumbing throughout this process. I also learned that plumbing quotes piss me off.

The floor
I am so incredibly happy to have carpet out of my bathroom! And I love the way the tiling turned out. The bathroom looks so much bigger and less brown.

The shower and bathtub
The previous shower and tub sucked for so many reasons. The old jacuzzi tub was so big, we ran out of hot water before it would reach the jets. And the shower was so tiny I couldn’t shave my legs. So, after much more tiling, I finally have a functional shower and bathtub. Totally worth it.

The vanity
To save money, I kept the old cabinets and refinished them. I love the look and it was one of the easiest things that I have done during this remodel. And tiling the vanity was super simple compared to the walls and the shower! The hardest part was spending hours upon hours on wayfair and amazon trying to choose the perfect lights, pulls, and mirrors.

I started this master bathroom remodel because I could no longer live with carpets in the bathroom and I knew I could save a ton of money doing it myself. What I didn’t know was how it would change me as a person. As a stay-at-home mom, I have found that being a mom has become my identity, and the person I was before children often gets neglected. I love my kids with all my heart, but they are really good at sucking the life right out of me. And I mean that in the best way possible. This project helped me to remember pre-child me, and I truly didn’t see that coming. It also helps that I have my own private oasis now with a locking door.
I started with minimal experience and knowledge and now feel like I could tackle (nearly) anything. And so I will. Next on my list is painting the house, building a shed, updating the 70s basement, and of course the kitchen remodel. Stay tuned.
